AECOM’s Transportation Business Unit is actively seeking a creative and highly motivated Entry Level Water Resources Engineer for immediate employment in the Salt Lake City, UT office. The successful candidate will provide surface water modeling and design support for stormwater control structures. The position will involve working on projects for local municipalities, federal agencies, and private clients to conduct hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and civil design including complex modeling.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and analyses, develop construction plans and specifications, and prepare visual aids
Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in water resources, hydraulic engineering, or other related field required
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Fundamental understanding of hydraulics
Must possess a valid Driver License
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resources or hydraulic engineering.
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, InRoads, MicroStation and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models like HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS)
