AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Biology for employment in the Mechanicsburg, PA office. We are looking for someone to assist with natural resource investigations and permitting for a variety of projects related to: natural gas development, land development, mining/quarrying, transportation, and water resource management. The candidate will join an excellent team with unlimited career growth potential. We are seeking a dynamic individual, capable of conducting field surveys; someone who works well with other staff and is comfortable working in small or large groups; and someone that can deliver high quality technical documentation and reports. A successful candidate will utilize these skills to prepare technical reports and interact with a variety of staff, project managers, clients and regulatory agency staff

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Collecting and analyzing biological data to determine natural resource impact.
Writing technical documents and permit applications.
May specialize in research centering on particular plants and animals and/or the ecology of these organisms.
May specialize in wetland delineation, reporting, and permitting.
Will ultimately be responsible for leading field crews and wetland/watercourse investigations
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology or other related discipline (e.g., ecology, wildlife management, environmental science, etc.)
Knowledge of wetland plant identification, dendrology, soil science, and ecological principles
Field experience identifying and delineating wetland and watercourse resources
General understanding of how to operate Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Experience writing state and federal regulatory permits
General understanding of and past experience with threatened and endangered species surveys
Experience operating a handheld GPS unit
Ability to write and convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner
Ability and willingness to do extended travel and work long hours in the field under all weather conditions
Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50lbs and walk long distances daily.
Working knowledge of biological principles
Basic knowledge of various state and federal environmental regulatory programs and permitting
Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to coordinate and self-direct assigned field investigation tasks
Familiar with commonly accepted field data collection methodologies
Understanding of personal role in supporting marketing of company services by delivering high-quality work products to clients
