AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Roadway Engineer for employment in the Greenwood Village CO office. In this role, entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM’s Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

The appropriately qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate prior experience and relevant coursework in Civil Engineering. The position provides the opportunity to support roadway design efforts for exciting, challenging, and high-profile transportation projects involving highway and interchange designs. This position provides training, guidance, and development of skills needed to acquire a Professional Engineering license.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work within the Roadway/Highways group on the design of civil engineering projects including roadways, highways, freight and transit, drainage improvements and utility relocation and protection
Preparation of engineering design reports, construction plans, and contract documents / technical specifications
Design and construction phase services for state and municipal clients
Collaborating with design teams consisting of multidiscipline design engineers and technicians
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related field
Interest in design of transportation projects
Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and other MS Office products
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues
Valid driver license required
Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, InRoads and AutoCAD
Working experience in the Civil Engineering industry
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
