Position Title Infrastructure Planning Intern

The AECOM Infrastructure Planning team is actively seeking an Infrastructure Planning Intern for employment in its Burnaby, BC, Office starting May 2018. The length of the internship may vary but should be no less than 4 months.
The successful candidate will have an introductory background in basic civil engineering principles in a variety of disciplines including municipal water, wastewater, stormwater and asset management. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members.
The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure solutions to customers. These projects may include infrastructure planning, asset management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, engineering design, and construction municipal infrastructure.
Third Year course work leading to Bachelor of Civil, Environmental Engineering or equivalent
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of engineering requirements for municipal infrastructure.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience or developed interest in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and analysis including the use of the following software programs: InfoWater, WaterCAD, EPANET, InfoSWMM, XP SWMM, PC SWMM, and ESRI’s ARC Map.
Experience with Geo Information Systems (e.g. ArcGIS) and Drafting (eg. AutoCAD or Civil3D) is an asset.
Municipal infrastructure design, construction, contract administration (MMCD), survey or inspection experience would be an asset.
Class V Driving license
