Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Civil Engineer for employment in the Houston, TX office. In this role, entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM’s Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Collect and analyze data, conduct feasibility studies, and prepare technical reports for municipal water/wastewater systems

  • Work closely with engineers and CADD designers in the preparation of design reports, contract drawings and specifications for construction

  • Perform hydraulic evaluations of complex water and wastewater systems

  • Prepare environmental documentation for permitting or regulatory program compliance

  • Conduct engineering services during construction for major water/wastewater facilities

  • Attend client meetings and technical presentations

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited university

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models or other drainage and water modeling software)

  • Commitment to long term employment in facility design engineering for water and wastewater treatment plants

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

  • Masters degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited university
