AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Structural Engineer for employment in the Conshohocken, PA office. This position will support our bridge inspection practice. This is for a full time position that involves working out in the field, performing hands-on inspection of bridge structures throughout the region. AECOM often wins contracts to inspect some of the most complex and interesting long-span bridges in the area, although we also inspect vast numbers of less complex bridges. Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Working out in the field performing hands-on bridge safety inspections
Field inspection work
Significant amount of office responsibilities which include developing inspection reports, cost estimates, load rating analyses, repair recommendations and repair schemes
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
2+ years of relevant experience in bridge engineering
Experience on PennDOT projects
